Instructions
- 1Knead flour, yeast, warm water, and butter to make dough; rise for 45 minutes.
- 2Divide dough, roll into ropes, and twist into pretzel shapes.
- 3Boil baking soda in water, dip each pretzel for 10 seconds (alkaline bath).
- 4Place on a baking sheet, sprinkle with coarse salt, and bake at 425°F (220°C) for 12 minutes until dark brown.
