Shaking Beef (Bo Luc Lac)

Tender beef cubes wok-seared with soy sauce, garlic, and butter, served over watercress.

Ingredients

  • beef tenderloin cubed
  • garlic minced
  • soy sauce
  • oyster sauce
  • butter
  • red onion sliced
  • watercress or lettuce

Instructions

  1. 1Marinate beef cubes in garlic, soy sauce, and oyster sauce for 15 minutes.
  2. 2Heat oil in a wok until smoking hot.
  3. 3Add beef in a single layer and sear without moving for 2 minutes, then shake wok to cook all sides.
  4. 4Stir in red onion slices and a dollop of butter. Toss for 1 minute.
  5. 5Serve hot over a bed of fresh watercress.
