Potato Pancakes (Kartoffelpuffer)

Crispy shallow-fried grated potato pancakes served with applesauce.

Ingredients

  • potatoes grated and squeezed dry
  • onion grated
  • egg
  • all-purpose flour
  • applesauce for serving
  • frying oil

Instructions

  1. 1Grate potatoes and squeeze in a towel to remove all starch water.
  2. 2Mix grated potato, onion, egg, flour, salt, and pepper.
  3. 3Heat oil in a skillet, drop spoonfuls of potato mix, and flatten.
  4. 4Fry for 4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Serve hot with applesauce.
