Loukoumades (Greek Donuts)

Fluffy, bite-sized fried dough balls soaked in honey syrup and topped with walnuts.

Ingredients

  • yeast
  • flour
  • warm water
  • honey
  • cinnamon
  • chopped walnuts
  • oil for frying

Instructions

  1. 1Mix yeast, water, and flour to make a wet dough. Let rise for 30 minutes.
  2. 2Drop small spoonfuls of dough into hot frying oil.
  3. 3Fry until golden brown and crispy (approx. 3 minutes).
  4. 4Drain and toss in warm honey syrup.
  5. 5Dust with cinnamon and top with chopped walnuts.
