Hotteok (Sweet Pancakes)

Fried sweet pancakes filled with melting brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped walnuts.

Ingredients

  • yeast
  • warm milk
  • brown sugar
  • cinnamon powder
  • walnuts chopped
  • butter

Instructions

  1. 1Knead flour, yeast, warm milk, and sugar into a sticky dough. Let rise for 1 hour.
  2. 2Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped walnuts for the filling.
  3. 3Take a ball of dough, flatten, place a spoonful of filling in the center, and pinch to seal.
  4. 4Fry the filled dough balls in butter on medium heat, pressing flat with a spatula.
  5. 5Cook for 3 minutes per side until golden brown and sugar inside melts.
