Gnocchi alla Sorrentina

Soft potato gnocchi baked in a rich tomato sauce with melted mozzarella and fresh basil.

Ingredients

  • potato gnocchi
  • tomato passata
  • garlic minced
  • fresh mozzarella cheese shredded
  • fresh basil leaves
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. 1Sauté minced garlic in olive oil in a pan, add tomato passata, and simmer for 10 minutes.
  2. 2Boil gnocchi in salted water until they float to the surface (about 2 minutes), then drain.
  3. 3Toss gnocchi with the tomato sauce and fresh basil.
  4. 4Transfer to an oven-safe dish, cover with mozzarella and Parmesan.
  5. 5Bake or broil at 400°F (200°C) for 5-7 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbling.
