Garlic Naan Bread

Soft, pillowy Indian flatbread brushed with melted butter and topped with minced garlic and cilantro.

Ingredients

Provided

  • all-purpose flour
  • active dry yeast
  • sugar
  • warm water
  • plain yogurt
  • minced garlic
  • melted butter
  • fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. 1Combine yeast, warm water, and sugar. Let stand until foamy, then stir in yogurt, flour, and salt to knead into a smooth dough.
  2. 2Let rise for 1 hour until doubled in size. Divide into balls and roll into flat ovals.
  3. 3Sauté minced garlic in butter and set aside.
  4. 4Cook naan on a screaming hot cast-iron skillet for 1-2 minutes until bubbles form, then flip to cook the other side.
  5. 5Brush immediately with garlic butter and sprinkle with fresh cilantro.
