Focaccia Bread

Flat oven-baked Italian yeast bread, topped with olive oil, rosemary, and coarse salt.

Ingredients

  • bread flour
  • active dry yeast
  • warm water
  • honey
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • fresh rosemary sprigs
  • coarse sea salt

Instructions

  1. 1Dissolve yeast and honey in warm water. Mix with flour and olive oil to make a soft dough.
  2. 2Knead the dough and let it rise in a greased bowl for 1 hour.
  3. 3Press the dough into a baking pan, create dimples with fingers, and drizzle with olive oil.
  4. 4Top with fresh rosemary and coarse sea salt. Let rise for 20 minutes.
  5. 5Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 20 minutes until golden.
