Flan Mexicano

A rich, creamy custard dessert baked in a ramekin coated with caramelized sugar.

Ingredients

  • eggs
  • sweetened condensed milk
  • evaporated milk
  • vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. 1Melt sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until it turns into golden caramel. Pour into the bottom of baking ramekins.
  2. 2Whisk eggs, condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract until completely smooth.
  3. 3Pour the custard mixture into the caramel-lined ramekins.
  4. 4Place ramekins in a hot water bath (bain-marie) and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes until set.
  5. 5Cool completely, refrigerate for 4 hours, then invert onto plates to serve.
