Classic Pork Katsu

Crispy breaded pork cutlets coated in crunchy panko, deep-fried until juicy, served with shredded cabbage.

Ingredients

  • thick-cut pork loin chops
  • flour
  • egg beaten
  • panko breadcrumbs
  • frying oil
  • tonkatsu sauce
  • shredded green cabbage

Instructions

  1. 1Tenderize the pork chops, season with salt and pepper.
  2. 2Dredge in flour, dip in beaten egg, and press firmly into panko breadcrumbs.
  3. 3Fry in hot oil (340°F/170°C) for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown.
  4. 4Let rest on a wire rack for 3 minutes to keep the crust crispy.
  5. 5Slice and serve with shredded green cabbage and tonkatsu sauce.
