Bratwurst with Sauerkraut

German pork sausages simmered in beer and grilled, served with tangy sauerkraut.

Ingredients

  • bratwurst sausages
  • canned sauerkraut
  • beer (German pilsner)
  • onion sliced
  • butter

Instructions

  1. 1Simmer bratwursts and sliced onions in beer in a pot for 10 minutes.
  2. 2Remove sausages and grill or pan-fry in butter until browned and crispy.
  3. 3Simmer sauerkraut in the remaining beer/onion broth for 10 minutes.
  4. 4Serve sausages hot over the sauerkraut.
