Baklava
Layers of crisp phyllo pastry filled with chopped nuts and sweetened with honey syrup.

- •phyllo pastry sheets
- •walnuts and pistachios chopped
- •butter melted
- •sugar
- •honey
- •cinnamon
- •water
Instructions
- 1Boil sugar, honey, water, and cinnamon to make syrup; cool.
- 2Layer phyllo sheets in a baking pan, brushing each with melted butter.
- 3Spread a layer of chopped nuts, top with more buttered phyllo sheets, and repeat.
- 4Cut into diamonds and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes.
- 5Pour the cold syrup over the hot baklava immediately after baking.
