Elbow pasta tossed in a creamy béchamel sauce made with sharp cheddar and gruyere cheese, baked with buttery breadcrumbs.

  • elbow macaroni
  • butter
  • flour
  • milk
  • sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • Gruyere cheese shredded
  • breadcrumbs
  • garlic powder

Instructions

  1. 1Boil pasta until al dente, drain, and set aside.
  2. 2Melt butter, stir in flour, cook for 1 minute, then gradually whisk in hot milk until thickened.
  3. 3Remove from heat and stir in cheese until a smooth sauce forms.
  4. 4Fold in macaroni, transfer to a baking dish, top with breadcrumbs, and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes.
