Baked Kibbeh

Layered ground beef and bulgur wheat spiced pie baked with pine nuts.

Ingredients

  • ground beef
  • bulgur wheat soaked
  • onion minced
  • allspice
  • pine nuts toasted
  • olive oil

Instructions

  1. 1Knead half the beef, bulgur, onion, and spices to make a smooth paste.
  2. 2Sauté remaining beef with onions and toasted pine nuts.
  3. 3Press half the bulgur-beef paste into a greased baking pan.
  4. 4Layer the cooked beef/pine nuts, then top with the remaining bulgur-beef paste.
  5. 5Score into diamond shapes, drizzle with olive oil, and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 30 minutes.
